Also in the rural areas in developing countries, it is of most importance to make the best use of its local resources (water, soils, biodiversity and energy), to identify new opportunities and to search for the integration of value chains and new markets (e.g. supplying Metropolitan Food Clusters). The project aims at the identification, development and implementation of green growth innovations, their sustainability benefits to society and the environment, and to enable the balancing of possible competing claims due to the spatial spread of more innovations in this area. This results in providing an added value to the water, energy and food nexus perspective.
